The body of a French soldier found in Massiges... 98 years after his death

During the renovation of a trench, the  "La Main de Massiges" association unearthed the bones of a French soldier from the Manche department who died at the Massiges Front in 1915.

The identification tag that he wore on his wrist and the research carried out showed that it was Albert Dadure, recruited in Cherbourg and a member of the 23rd colonial infantry regiment. Steps are currently being taken to locate the descendants of this soldier born near Sainte Mère Eglise (Audoville-la-Hubert) who died at the age of 21 in Massiges on 15 February 1915.

98 years after his death, Albert Dadure will soon have a grave to his name in a Marne necropolis.
